A unified platform developed from the ground up integrating the best-in-class core disciplines of data preparation, business analytics and artificial intelligence.
No. Looker’s core analytics run on a standalone desktop app, while lighter analytics are web-based. Data prep requires a separate desktop app, and Salesforce's 'Einstein' is used for data science.
A no code interface that puts advanced functionality in the hands of the everyday business user. You get access to a variety of self-service scenarios (add/swap/dice, custom sort, perform context calculations, etc.) without involving devs.
Looker is more of a SQL self-service. Much of the functionality resides in its explore module which LookML (Looker’s querying language) is the basis for. Looker is highly geared towards technical analysts and devs, with most users usually on “view-only” status.
Pyramid has a modern services- based architecture which is modular, highly scalable, and very robust. It can be deployed anywhere, on prem or in the cloud, putting the choice in the hands of the customer.
Looker can be deployed on prem or in the cloud, depending on the customer’s requirements. Just like any Google offering, Looker is usually accessed through a web browser and can be embedded via SDKs or APIs.
Pyramid prioritizes centralized access control. Our CMS is not just for administration, but forms a fundamental part of the user experience, integrating and leveraging the analytics catalog into every part of the data process.
There’s no single central management and administration of data and content. Governance is weaker and proliferation of unmanaged desktop content is rampant. Content is stored in project catalogs’, without the ability to cross pollinate between projects.
Pyramid’s Gen BI capabilities extend through the entire platform. It’s chatbot works directly off any source without the need to ingest data and can answer sophisticated queries in speech or text, along with multi-LLM support.
Looker has received a series of Gen BI updates, including the integration of Vertex AI, over the last couple of years that allows chatting with business data and getting more insights. However, the governance and self-service aspects are still a work in progress.
We could not be more pleased with Pyramid, particularly the embedding capabilities—they have exceeded our expectations. We have been future-proofed with Pyramid. We are with the right team, all under one umbrella.
We're able to use Pyramid to display data in a way that our clients require, but that they struggle to do with other platforms. It's been a competitive advantage for us.
Being able to connect into SAP was a huge win for us and to be able to pull that data through, with prompts on our live connection was great.
Users throughout the organization were able to use Pyramid really quickly. We didn't need to send trainers onsite to educate people because there's no big learning curve.
Pyramid has unlocked some new possible revenue opportunities for us. It has opened up possibilities that we didn't have going into this. It has been wonderful, with unexpected benefits.
