Meeting Customer Demand: New BI Office functionality enables next evolution of integrated experiences for Power BI users

As we further a commitment to empower our users, we are pleased to introduce new functionality in our flagship BI Office platform that allows customers to seamlessly import Power BI Desktop files into BI Office storyboards.

The "Import Power BI File" feature expands the adoption of Power BI Desktop content in a governed environment. This allows customers to easily share analytics content across the enterprise, giving Power BI Desktop users the ability to publish their data files to an on-premises or private cloud server. Because BI Office runs in any type of environment, this new feature allows Power BI organizations to benefit from the advantages of the cloud without having to make that leap.

This means every user and decision maker across the organization can keep their content, reports and data models on-premises or in private clouds while safely publishing and sharing content using BI Office.

Data can be unified with other sources and content, including Reporting Services (SSRS), 3rd-party visualization tools, and other web enabled assets—all in the secure and governed environment that BI Office provides. Considering the scope of large business analytics deployments for some of our customers it’s not surprising that many users require this balance of flexibility with governance, security, and personal productivity capabilities.

Leveraging the power of BI Office, we are pleased to offer a richer analytics experience for a broader set of users, enabling them to extend the value of their Microsoft BI investment. The result is a win for businesses everywhere because they now have access to an end-to-end, integrated analytics workflow that will speed their transformation into true data-driven organizations.
