Getting Wisdom and ROI out of Data

This is the second in a series of video blogs (“vlogs”) about capabilities that—together—set Pyramid Analytics apart from other enterprise-level business intelligence (BI) solutions. (Check out the first video in the series: The Road to Governance Starts with Data Integrity.) Capabilities include:

  • Providing governance, along with ease of use.
  • Unlocking wisdom and return on investment (ROI) in data.
  • Ensuring data integrity for BI project success.
  • Equipping and enabling users for broad BI adoption.

In this second video, I talk about curiosity, asking questions of data, and using its answers to provide a substantial return on investment (ROI).

Think of those colorful Russian, wooden dolls that are intricately nested; when you open up the largest doll in the set, it’s crafted such that it leads to a series of smaller, embedded dolls. With our BI technology, you can use your curiosity to pose questions that spur related questions about the data, in cascading fashion. Not just questions, though; you get answers from the data.

These answers translate to pearls of wisdom, although the gems that are extracted aren’t just for a special few. BI is about being inclusive, not exclusive. That’s where the ROI lies—in the broad base of employees throughout the organization having the capacity to engage in a dialogue with the data, to extract intelligent insight from it, which unfolds into better, smarter, quicker decisions.

It’s really exciting that an organization gets smart with BI, and that every employee can be involved in the process of making wise decisions.

Curiosity about data opens the door to wisdom, and wisdom is power.
